Our Challenge
HIV-positive children residing at Mahesh Foundation’s Care Home face a serious challenge in accessing adequate and balanced nutrition. Malnutrition adversely affects their physical growth and overall development, while significantly weakening their immune systems. This increased vulnerability exposes them to frequent infections and illnesses, further compromising their health. For children living with HIV, poor nutrition intensifies existing health risks and hinders their ability to effectively combat diseases. Addressing this challenge in a timely and holistic manner is crucial to improving their health outcomes and ensuring their overall well-being.
With the support of Hapag-Lloyd, we implemented a comprehensive nutrition support program for HIV-positive children at Mahesh Foundation’s Care Home. The initiative includes detailed nutritional assessments, customized meal plans, essential dietary supplements, nutrition education, and close collaboration with professional dieticians. By addressing the specific dietary and health needs of each child, the program aims to strengthen immunity, improve overall health and well-being, and empower children with practical knowledge for effective nutrition management.
